Deputy Mayor of Marseille in charge of Economy and Relations with the Business World
Didier Parakian was born in Marseilles in 1964 within an Armenian family. After graduated from High Business School of Toulouse, he created in 1982 with his sister Marjorie, the ready-to-wear clothing brand “Didier Parakian”. The company from Marseilles quickly became one of the jewels of the French fashion, both in France and in international markets, where it exports 70% of its creations.
Didier Parakian has then become in a few years a talented and well received fashion designer. His success and dynamism often hit the headlines of the national and international newspapers. For example, the economic magazine “L’Entreprise” listed the society Marjorie (Didier Parakian) as the 43rd one among the top 100 of the most beautiful SMEs and champions of rentability of the hexagon, and as the 6th in the ranking “Mediterranean”.
Didier Parakian participated also actively in the economic life of the region of Marseilles. The business is active in fifty countries throughout the world.
Didier Parakian is also the vice-president of the French-Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Marseilles and even the president from 2006 to 2008. He is also the Deputy
President of the association Marseille-Arménie.
